She was supposed to be his one-night distraction. But their attraction is undeniable.

Introverted Daisy McGregor is used to being a wallflower, but what she lacks in style, she makes up for with an acerbic wit, a passion for life, and a deep devotion to her family. So she’ll suffer through her sister Dahlia’s bachelorette party and accept the cloud of pity for going stag to the wedding.

Out at the pub, sexy bad boy Mason Carlisle is a reluctant wingman tasked with entertaining Daisy while his brother flirts with her oldest sister, Daffodil. When the plan fails and Mason’s true intent is revealed, he feels intense guilt—and a sensual spark of desire for the unlikeliest of women.

Daisy decides to use this unfortunate encounter to her advantage to make it up to her, Mason will be another kind of wingman, playing the role of her boyfriend and wedding date. Will their ruse unravel completely—or will Mason and Daisy’s undeniable attraction ignite a scorching love affair that knows no rules?

The Wingman Alpha Men Book 1 eBook Natasha Anders

Now this is a love story. Just your basic everyday story of two people who meet, date, spend time together getting to know one another and fall in love. Except it’s all fake.

Mason reluctantly agrees to distract Daisy while his brother attempts to gain the attention of Daisy’s sister. The two appear to get along quite nicely until Daisy learns that Mason has no real interest in her. However, due to a lifetime of being the “other” sister, frumpy and unfashionable, she turns the tables on Mason and using his feelings of guilt, she blackmails him into being her date at her sister’s wedding.

Now I’ve read other books with this trope but this author took this storyline and added into it two characters who are each charming, fun, damaged in their own ways, and completely unaware they are falling in love. The writing is pure magic. It is all completely believable as the author shows the reader each step of the way how, when, and why Mason and Daisy move from not friends into something more. It is never wordy or bogged down and the pace is fast and engaging. The banter between these two is so entertaining and they are able to laugh at their own flaws even when embarrassed by them. It was especially fun to catch the unspoken/written comparison of Daisy and Mason’s relationship to that of their dogs Peaches, a feisty little furpuff, and Cooper, a huge mixed lab. And if you think an ex-soldier alpha can’t be intimidated then wait until you read about his first meal with Daisy’s parents. Good cop/Good cop (yes both Goods) has never been so hilarious!

This is written in both POVs with a nice little epilogue one year later. May the chicken dances commence!

The Wingman Alpha Men Book 1 eBook Natasha Anders Reviews

Natasha Anders is the kind of Author who has you feeling everything the characters are feeling. This book is no exception and I love it! Daisy has a lot of self esteem issues. Mason is a gorgeous man who worked hard for everything he has. He also has old fashioned ideas and a hard time showing his feelings. Mason's brother, Spencer, wants Daisy's sister, Daff, so Spencer asks Mason to keep Daisy busy so he can make a move. That's where it begins. That's the beginning of a smoking hot, beautiful love, emotional roller coaster! The story brought out a lot of emotions and I loved every single one! A definite must read! A 5 star book!
This is the first time I have read this author; loved the story so much. It wasn't a " love at first sight" romance but a realistic story that could happen. Daisy is the "good" sister who everyone dismisses. Mason is with his brother Spencer at the local bar in Riversend. They were the bad boys growing up while Daisy and her sisters where the good kids. Spencer wants Mason to be his wingman to chat up Daisy so he can make his move on Daffodil her cute sister. Mason is not wild about it but goes along reluctantly. Of course there are mean girls in this love story. Mason & Daisy start a fake relationship where Mason becomes her wingman to her other sister's wedding. Daisy doesn't want to attend alone so she guilts Mason into going. Of course both know the deal, they will their separate ways after the wedding. However Mason likes Daisy, actually sees her as funny, intelligent and he is sexually attracted but he doesn't do permanent. She understands this is all fake. He wants to pretend to "date" so it will look believable at the wedding. She goes along but all the while they are coming to know each other as friends even as the end approaches. The mean girls (bridesmaids) as well as the sleezy bridegroom and his buddies make for an involved complex story line set in South Africa. Never read a story from there before. Good read will definitely read more from this author. Diamondgirl
I just adore Natasha Anders' stories and The Wingman just gave me a million new reasons to adore her even more. I'm so accustomed to her angsty storylines and her brooding alpha males, that the lightness and sweetness of The Wingman was both unexpected and refreshing.

Mason Carlisle is a nice guy. Yes, he's anti-commitment. And yes, he's ex-military. And he may have modeled underwear at one point. He's as alpha as they come but he's also charming and funny and sweet underneath that roguish exterior. He's the full package and I absolutely loved him.

Daisy MacGregor is the ugly duckling. Except she's really not. She's just insecure and often overlooked when compared to her beautiful sisters. I was worried that this was going to end up being a Cinderella story about a girl who loses some weight, undergoes a makeover, updates her wardrobe and ultimately scores herself the prince that wouldn't have ever considered her otherwise. I'm so glad Natasha Anders did right by these characters and by women in general and took this story to a beautiful place that sends a strong message that women don't have to change for a man because the right man will see our beauty no matter what.

This story is fun and sweet, but it's also heavy with emotion. It's light and sexy and slow burning, but it's also got its fair share of angst and turmoil and push and pull. It's signature Natasha Anders yet new and refreshing and completely different from anything else I've read from her. I'm so excited for the possibilities of what's to come in this new series.
